a day in his or her shoes...

You often hear people say, "You'll never understand another person until you've walked a day in his or her shoes." If you want to get to know someone, try this: (In this case, I think I'll choose the names Bob, and Henryetta.)
     "Bob, do you mind if i take a walk in your shoes for a while? I feel like i don't know you that well...i think we could be really good friends if we tried it. You could borrow my shoes if yo want?" (says Henryetta)
     "Sure. I guess; but where would i walk to?" (says Bob)
     "I don't know...just walk." (says Henryetta)
